A BRIEF SITUATION REPORT IN RESPECT OF COVID-19 ACTIVITIES IN EBONYI STATE

Despite the fact that Ebonyi state has the highest record of coronavirus spread in the South East, NAPPS members in the State are all safe and healthy. This is the Lord's doing and it's marvelous in our sight.

In consideration of the untold hardship which our members were subjected to by the Covid-19 Pandemic, we channeled all our Covid-19 activities towards members welfare.

In the first place, we wrote a letter to the state government through the State Governor and copied the commissioner for Education & SSG demanding for Covid-19 palliatives for our members. It's unfortunate that the government has been silent over our demands up to date.

Secondly, we set up a 3-man committee to mobilize our members for the CBN Covid-19 household loan scheme. The good news is that some of our members have benefited from the Covid-19 household loan.

Thirdly, we moved further to collaborate with the ministry of business development for the training of our members for the Ten Million (#10m) Naira CBN AGSMEIS Loan which will be paid in seven (7) years. This particular training will commence on Monday next week.

Finally, we have also set up a "Post Covid-19 and school resumption committee". The function of the committee among other things are:

1. To get contractors that will fumigate all our schools at a minimal cost.

2. To assist Members source materials and equipments that will be used to fight against Covid-19 in our schools.

3. To ensure that our members comply with the directives of NCDC on Covid-19 prevention.

We pray that God in His infinite mercy will continue to protect and preserve our members, such that at the end of the pandemic, we'll take a head-count and none will be missing.
