REPORT FROM IMO STATE ON COVID-19 PANDEMIC

On closure of schools by the FGN, we encouraged our members to be calm and resolute via our platform. As days turned to months we still urged our members to find out ways of assisting our teachers by paying them March salary in full and others as their financial powers can carry. While on total lockdown the ministry of education called us out for a parley. In response were confronted with demands of REACCREDITATION/recertification with their financial attachments. This we wrote back challenging the rationale considering the period in which we are in.

We requested palliative from the state government for our members, after inaugurating our COVID-19 Committee. Plus the above, the committee has been working hard particularly in sourcing assistance/palliative for members from notable sources. We have arranged training the trainer e.learning symposium for our schools to make them relevant during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC period and after. We have alerted our schools on the need for preparing for School resumption. Thanks.
