DELTA STATE CHAPTER SITUATION REPORT

The COVID-19  Situation in DELTA STATE has been taken very seriously by the State government.

Schools were closed suddenly since the last week of March 2020 making it impossible for many schools to collect complete school fees and made many schools unable to pay their teachers salaries.

We have had several engagement s with the state government on palliatives to private school owners and their teachers. We have written to the state Governor on such palliatives measures similar to what NEC wrote to the Federal Government. The Government is saying they are broke.

The government organizes teleclass for Learners in the terminal classes via the state television and radios.

We have also had several visual meeting s with the commissioner of Education in the state with regards to the preparation for our schools to resume. All private schools have been directed to fumigate their Schools, get all protective apparatus in place, and make provisions for social distancing when Schools eventually resume.

On our part, NAPPS Delta State has been running an Online Training on how to break the chain of infections and the protective steps against the COVID-19 disease. Over 500 hundred members have been trained. The program which took off since June 1st, 2020 will be rounded up tomorrow 19th June, 2020.

Finally, we want to thank the National President and his team for their tireless efforts to see that everything works out well for NAPPS members all over the country.

Thank you for giving us hope.
