SUBJECT : OPINIONS OF EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS MEETING WITH FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

Esteemed Colleagues,
I trust you are doing well and also staying safe.?
The opinions arrived at the Education stakeholders meeting comprising Federal Minister of Education and State Commissioners for Education, NUT, WAEC, NECO, NAPPS etc held today, Monday, 27th July, 2020 are as follows;
1. WAEC/SSSCE to commence on August, 17th 2020
2. Schools are expected to reopen for exit classes/SSS3 students as from 4th August 2020 according to the preparedness and readiness of the individual states of the federation.
Other external examinations dates will be announced later.
3. This opinion is subject to approval of higher authority within Federal government hierarchy.
So, look forward to updates.
4. Please note that this information is subject to the inputs of individual states of the federation before it will be announced by the states since education is under concurrent list in Nigerian Constitution and as such individual states may make some adjustments to suit their peculiarities.
5. This memo is meant to be an early information to members to fast track the process of getting schools ready immediately as officials from state ministries of education may soon embark on inspection to schools this week.
WE SHOULD NOT BE CAUGHT UNAWARE OR UNPREPARED
6. Members are to get intouch with NAPPS LG,State and zonal heads for futher information.
7. Members are to fast track process of putting necessary Covid- 19 Safety protocols in schools and hostels . Proprietors are to complete any form on safety guidelines from state governments and the attendant form on 52 page School Reopening Guidelines from federal government.
8. Look forward for seperate CWC meeting and general meeting soon.
9. Be informed of another Federal Government stakeholders meeting coming up between 29th and 30th of July,2020.
