👍👍👍👍👍👍

True Talk.

Ordinarily, l do not want to get involved in the debate and propriety of doing the right thing at the right time but someone has just spoken my mind.

In one of my comments on the South West Zonal platform, l replied a fellow school owner who proposed that NAPPS should deduct their 3 years Annual dues from the palliative and send the balance to them!!! How naive?

Was there COVID in 2017, pandemic in 2018 or what was the barrier to pay in 2019?

Even when the lockdown was announced in March 2020, the dues for 2020 was due!!!

Many people are rushing to pay N4000 and other Zonal, State and Local Government dues now because of the palliative in sight. That is the fact

These are people that find it difficult to even leave their schools for meetings talk less of pay dues.

Officers of the Association carry out  Association's duties using their money apart from their precious time.

During my time as the Secretary later President of NAPPS in Lagos State, l grounded 3 cars running up and down the place because there was no phone, WhatsApp, Zoom etc that we have now, neither did l receive any compensation

When we took Lagos State Government to court for infringing on our Rights, some school owners never supported our action rather sabotaged our effort by going to pay the Annual Dues when we agreed not to pay in order to drive home our point. Many loans we took from the Executive Members to prosecute the law suit were not paid back to the creditors rather treated as grants.

One of our colleagues took the Memo l forwarded to members to the then Commissioner of Education in order to gain unnecessary favour.

As highlighted by Mrs Alisiobi, many come to meetings, eat, take away important information and fly away like birds without dropping a dime to run the Association which they call their own.

Is this what obtains in Nigerian Bar Association or Nigerian Medical Association etc?

In conclusion, a good soldier do not wait until there is shout of war before looking for his gun and other fighting implement.

As a believer, you don't start praying when the crisis is at your doorsteps rather, you deposit something in your prayer bank when all was going well and you can challenge God in your time of adversity that he should save you.

The demand to pay in arrears for 3 years especially at a very hard time like this is a repercussion for not doing the needful as at when due.

Note that some of these people started their schools like 10/15 years ago when they are supposed to have been paying but they refused only showing face at meetings when they have problems. Once their problems are solved it us bye bye again.

The verdict is simple: LET US DO THE NEEDFUL WHEN IT MATTERS. WHOEVER GOES TO EQUITY MUST GO WITH CLEAN HANDS.

Many are paying the Annual dues now because of the palliative in sight. If they succeed it is bye bye again.

It is time we change our attitudes to our Association because you cannot harvest bountifully if you sow sparingly.

God bless NAPPS!!!
